About the Degrees

The three associate degrees in Early Childhood Education focus on providing students with the knowledge, skills, and training required to meet the emerging standards for early childhood educators. This program prepares students to work with the mandate of the Head Start Act. This program meets the national guidelines and competencies recommended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Who Should Apply?

Individuals with a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED) who wish to enter the teaching profession as an early childhood educator.

Individuals currently working on their undergraduate general education requirements at Utah Tech University or another university who wish to switch to the Early Childhood Education program in UT’s Family Studies and Human Development department.

Practicing early childhood educators and/or para-professionals who wish to obtain an associate’s degree and increase their level of expertise in their current field.
